A murder accused made his first appearance at Teesside Crown Court today.
Abdourahamane Barry was charged with murder after a man was found stabbed to death in a Middlesbrough house.
The 26-year-old appeared in court via video link to Holme House Prison.
He has not yet entered a plea.
Judge Simon Bourne-Arton QC, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, remanded him in custody until a plea hearing on April 8.
Cleveland Police launched a murder investigation after a body was found.
Officers were called to a home on Carlow Street, Gresham, Middlesbrough at 3.45am on Saturday.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that the man had died as a result of a stab wound.
