Redcar’s Coatham Memorial Hall and Guisborough Quoit Club will both play host to mix of familiar TV faces and some of the freshest comics in the UK
Hoping it's going to be a knockout at Coatham Memorial Hall, home of Redcar Boxing Club, are Carmel Ramsay, of Brass Neck Comedy, and club founder Frankie Wales
It's been raising the roof at Middlesbrough Town Hall for five years - and now the Big Mouth Comedy Club is promising some knockout nights in Redcar and Guisborough too.
On the first Friday of every month, Redcar’s Coatham Memorial Hall - home of Redcar Boxing Club - and Guisborough Quoit Club will both play host to a mix of familiar TV faces and some of the freshest comics on the UK circuit.
Tickets for the new Friday night gigs (April 4, May 2 and June 6) go on sale at 10am on Saturday. They include comics with a combined string of TV credits including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Russell Howard’s Good News, ITV’s Comedy Rocks and classic sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.
Saltburn's popular Brass Neck Comedy Club is also joining the Big Mouth stable.
Carmel Ramsay of Big Mouth Comedy said: “Our gigs in Boro and Saltburn both sell-out in advance and always go down a storm, and we’ve constantly had people asking us to bring Big Mouth to different places, but we’ve always wanted to wait until we’ve found the right venues.
“Coatham Memorial Hall is one of the best rooms we’ve seen in ages.
“Really atmospheric, loads of wood panelling and memorabilia, and a great big stage that the comics are going to love.
“It’s the same with the Quoit Club in Guisborough.
“It’s the perfect room for Big Mouth and just a heartbeat away from the High Street.
Frankie Wales of Coatham Memorial Hall said: “We’re really looking forward to this. I’m a huge comedy fan.”
