A man and woman from Middlesbrough have been jailed for stealing £1,358 worth of cosmetics from Boots.
Kayleigh Elizabeth McCabe, 27, of Garvin Close, Middlesbrough, and David Mason, 33, of Colville Street, Middlesbrough, appeared in court over thefts which took place on Stokesley High Street.
Both defendants appeared at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court, where they were each sentenced to a total of 16 weeks’ imprisonment.
They were each given four weeks’ jail for the Stokesley offences, and a suspended 12-week sentence for previous offences was activated by the court to run concurrently with the four-week sentence.
Sergeant Nick Hill of Stokesley Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The pair were apprehended thanks to information passed via the ShopWatch scheme and members of the public.”
