A woman is due to appear in court accused of biting another woman’s nose off at a wake.
The 20-year-old woman was today charged with two counts of section 18 wounding and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.
The charges were made in connection with an assault on a 23-year-old woman at Guisborough Quoit Club on Tuesday night.
A wake for 19-year-old Guisborough footballer Jordan Dowson was being held at the time. He died in a car accident earlier this month.
The 23-year-old woman was assaulted outside the club and had her nose bitten off. She was taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital.
The 20-year-old woman is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
