Benefits Street has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry gong weeks before the second series airs.
The Channel 4 documentary series - by Love Productions - has been shortlisted for an award by the Broadcasting Press Guild.
Series two of the programme has been filmed in Stockton’s Kingston Road on the Tilery estate.
The controversial programme is one of four up for the guild’s best documentary series award.
Benefits Street will compete for its prize against ITV’s Broadmoor and two other Channel 4 programmes - 24 Hours in Police Custody and Grayson Perry: Who Are You?
The awards will be handed out at a ceremony at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London on March 13.
