In-form Ron Carter from Stockton saw off all his rivals to win the intermediate class in Scarborough DMC’s trial at Harwood Dale.
His fantastic ride of four lost on the difficult sixth section eased him to the win over Gary Collinson.
Hiderwell’s Danny Carne has begun to move back up the results sheet and put a solid ride together to earn fifth place.
Middlesbrough rider Barry Chapman finished just three marks off the pace in Clubman A class.
Five marks dropped on the deep gully of seven allowed the experienced Roman Kyrwyckyj aboard an SWM to hang on for the win.
James Carr - sponsored by Yearby motorcycle dealer Andy Metcalfe - took the overall win.
In his first outing on a new 300cc Scorpa, his rides on sections five and seven could not be matched, leaving Tom Hick in the runner-up berth.
There was a stronger entry than usual in the beginners’ class as more and more riders make the breakthrough into the sport.
Guisborough DMC member Martin Pratt won the adult beginners’ prize.
