Prolific Championship striker Jordan Rhodes certainly knows where the goal is - and it's no surprise Boro have been quick to register their interest.
The English forward is the subject to a three-way transfer tug-of-war with title rivals Derby County and Norwich City also keen.
But The Gazette understands that Boro are confident that they will win the chase and that Rhodes could even sign this week, ahead of Boro's crucial matches with Ipswich, Derby and Bournemouth.
Boro are believed to have thrashed out a deal to take the hitman on loan until the end of the season with a fee in place for a permanent move if he can help fire Boro to promotion.
When Rovers indicated recently within the game that Rhodes may be available, Boro were quick to move for the striker.
The 25-year-old moved to Ewood Park from hometown club Huddersfield in August 2012 after banging in 40 goals to see the Terriers to promotion.
At Rovers he has scored 28 and 25 goals in his two full seasons, and has notched 13 so far this term.
