Six vehicles had their windows smashed on Kindersley Street, one on South View Terrace and another on Henry Street
Vandals are being hunted by police after several vehicles had their windows smashed.
Eight vehicles had their windows smashed in North Ormesby - six on Kindersley Street, one on South View Terrace and another on Henry Street.
The incidents all happened between 12.50am and 1.05am on Sunday.
Retired Corus Steel worker Richard Reed described the vandals as “brain dead idiots”.
Richard, 60, said: “We knew nothing about it until my son Chris was leaving for work and saw both of our cars had their windows put through.
“I felt completely numb to be honest.
“Believe it or not, this is a nice street to live in, and when you get idiots going along smashing cars up for the fun of it, it doesn’t give a good impression.
“It’s cost us over £150 to fix, which we could have done without paying.
“And everyone will be in the same boat.”
Mum-of-one Michelle Robinson, 37, said her partner was furious when he discovered the back window of his BMW had been put through as he left for work on Sunday morning.
“It doesn’t surprise me to be honest,” said hairdresser Michelle.
“We’ve had trouble before from people passing through the park after nights out who think it’s funny to kick wing-mirrors off and smash windows.
“It’s sickening to think they will have seen the baby seat in the back and still thought it was clever to smash the window.
“Angry doesn’t come close to how I’m feeling.
“My partner is lucky - he works in a car garage, but it has still cost him £100 to get it fixed.”
Anyone who may have witnessed any of the damage or anyone acting suspiciously in the area around that time is asked to contact PC Sarah Evans on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
