Burly striker John Alexander will be thrust straight into the Billingham Synthonia squad at West Allotment Celtic.
The former Billingham Town and Marske forward has left Crook to join a Synners’ survival fight gathering momentum.
Synners were livewire in last week’s 5-2 rout of Ashington with Michael Sweet scoring all five, and Alexander will provide a different dimension up top alongside the Darlington youngster.
Manager Conrad Hillerby said: “John has got goals in him and he will pin centre halves in and do a good job for us.
“He goes straight into the squad tomorrow and our confidence is high after last week.
“The Ashington game was as impressive a performance I’ve been in charge of, even at Norton. If we can produce something similar, we’ve got a great chance of picking up three points.”
Synners are hoping their match beats the snow at the second time of asking this week after Wednesday’s League Cup tie at Shildon was rearranged for next Wednesday.
Guisborough will have just about thawed out in time for kick-off at home to Alexander’s former side Crook after pummelling Whinney Banks 8-2 in grim midweek conditions to set up a North Riding Senior Cup semi-final trip to York City.
The holders were given a good game by the Teesside League leaders in spite of the scoreline, and fell behind to a Jordan Wilson goal before their extra quality in the final third told.
Nathan Mulligan scored twice on his first start back from injury to play himself into boss Chris Hardy’s thoughts for tomorrow.
Marske have winger Josh MacDonald back from a ban but will be without four other players at Durham City.
MacDonald scored Marske’s final goal in their 5-0 midweek friendly win against Redcar Athletic, but right-back Stephen Gibson’s first appearance since signing from Billingham Synthonia last week was cut short by an asthma attack.
Gibson will miss out tomorrow as a result, while Austin Johnston and Thomas Bott are both injured and Sam Garvie will not be risked on Durham’s plastic pitch.
Norton are up to full speed apart from Karl Charlton for their trip to lower mid-table Chester-Le-Street in division two.
The Ancients felt they should have been awarded a free-kick before Team Northumbria equalised in last week’s 1-1 draw, but still boast the league’s only unbeaten home record.
Nathan Porritt is set to make a second successive start for full strength Thornaby in their home game against Whickham.
The former Boro attacker had an influential debut in last week’s 1-0 victory at Alnwick, teeing up Jamie Clarke’s winner.
Michael Dalton will have a fitness test prior to Billingham Town’s home clash against Heaton Stannington. Stephen Jackson returns and veteran striker David Onions may be ready to make his second start.
Stokesley’s home game against Ryton is off already, but it has got nothing to do with the weather.
They were originally due to play Willington away and a county match was booked on the Broughton Road pitch before the fixtures changed.
Stokesley were down to the bare bones for Tuesday’s battling 4-2 League Cup defeat at Dunston but took the lead and Connor Campbell got the second when they were 4-1 down.
