An injured cyclist was left lying in the road after he was hit by a car.
A 56-year-old man was arrested following the collision on suspicion of failing to stop following a road accident.
The collision took place on Crescent Road at the junction with Kildare Street in Middlesbrough at around 10.25pm on Tuesday.
It involved a Ford C Max ad a 41-year-old male cyclist.
The vehicle was recovered some distance from the scene and a 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following a road accident. He has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
The cyclist had suffered a broken pelvis and a broken ankle as well as minor injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
