Ben Gibson insists Boro are not feeling the heat ahead of tonight’s match with Millwall, despite a recent downturn in form.
A 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday three days ago saw Boro miss the chance to go top of the Championship, and was the team’s second defeat in three matches.
It was also the Teessiders’ third blank in their last five in front of goal - and the pressure is on Boro to rediscover their goalscoring touch against the struggling Lions tonight.
Jelle Vossen’s hat-trick helped Boro win 5-1 at the New Den in December’s reverse fixture, but Gibson expects Ian Holloway’s side to execute very different tactics at the Riverside tonight.
“This group of lads are very demanding of each other and we’ve got a good comraderie. It’s in times like this that you show that,” Gibson said.
“There’s no pressure on us (for Millwall) - there’s a long way to go in this season, 12 games. In the Premier League, half of a season is 19 games.
“The only pressure is what we put ourselves under, but in terms of the league it’s too early to look at things like that.
“We had a really good trip down there and it would be great to repeat that, but it will be completely different game.

Middlesbrough's Jelle Vossen celebrates scoring his side's fourth goal with team-mates
“It will be tough, I’ve no doubt they’ll come and sit in and make it hard for us to break them down, especially after the way we played against them last time.
“It will be a tough test but one we’re looking forward to.”
A Boro win could see them return to the top of the Championship, should Derby County lose at Brighton.
Meanwhile stuttering Bournemouth face in-form Wolves, as the promotion race continues to heat up.
