Cyclist suffered fracture to spine in Middlesbrough town centre collision


A cyclist suffered a fracture to his spine after being hit by a car.


The collision took place on Borough Road at the junction of Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough at about 8.40am on Friday.


It involved a Ford Focus and a cyclist.

The 43-year-old male cyclist was taken to James Cook University Hospital suffering from concussion and a fracture to his spine.


He is currently in James Cook University Hospital in a comfortable condition.


Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact PC Tina Lackenby from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 32681.
