Craig Charles is coming to Middlesbrough - providing his gig gets the go-ahead at The Purple Pig.
The funk and soul DJ and Coronation Street actor is set to play a gig at the Linthorpe Road bar and restaurant next month.
Owner Som Emadi has submitted an application for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) to Middlesbrough Council for the one-off event from midnight to 4am on Saturday, March 14.

“We’re hoping the TEN is granted,” said Mr Emadi.
“It’s going to be quite an intimate event with up to 150 people there. Craig Charles usually plays at large venues in London.
“The proceeds of the first 50 tickets - £500 - we will be donating to Zoe’s Place.”
The venue’s usual opening hours are from 12pm to midnight every day of the week.
Cleveland Police have objected to the TEN on the grounds of the prevention of crime and disorder and public nuisance.

Last month a licensing officer visited the premises and found that a number of conditions on the premises licence were not being complied with at that time.
They included: a requirement to display notices indicating that a Challenge 25 policy was in place at the premises; a requirement to display notices requesting that patrons leave the premises quietly; CCTV was required to retain recorded footage for a period of 31 days; an incident book must be kept on the premises and maintained at all times; staff must be trained and retrained every six months; and training records must be retained and made available to police or other responsible authority on request.
But Mr Emadi said all of the above conditions have now been put in place and he has employed a company in Harrogate to ensure conditions are complied with.
He said he has upgraded the venue’s CCTV - as it previously recorded 20 days - so it complies with the licensing condition.
The licensing sub-committee will meet on Monday to decide whether to allow the temporary event to take place either with or without conditions or to uphold the objection by police.
