A blaze that raged inside the roof void of a gearbox garage is now being treated as arson.
Cleveland Fire Brigade was called to reports of a fire at Easi Gears garage in Thornaby at 11.25pm on Saturday.
Three fire crews from Stockton Fire Station along with a hydraulic platform attended the blaze at the garage on Sun Street.
Police also attended and put a cordon in place at the scene to protect nearby residents.

At one point, police were forced to advise some residents that they may have had to leave their homes if the situation became worse.
The fire was extinguished by about 12.10am. The building was unoccupied at the time of the incident and nobody was injured.
An inspection of the site by Cleveland Fire Brigade looking into the cause of the fire was completed and established that it had been started deliberately leading Cleveland Police to launch an investigation.
A force spokeswoman said: “At approximately 11.25pm on Saturday February 7, police were called to attend Easi Gears Garage in Sun Street, Thornaby after a fire was reported.
“An investigation is ongoing, and at this time it is believed to be deliberate ignition.”
