Nail your colours to the mast, Steph!
That’s what the BBC presenter's Twitter followers are demanding after she posted a pic of her wearing a Newcastle scarf at the their home match against Manchester United yesterday.
In the main there was disappointment with her dual citizenship - although some did stick up for the outspoken 32-year-old Boro fan.
@BoroHamster reposnded “Immediately unfollowed, blocked and reported” while @JoshFrankland__ wrote: “I don’t think you should be allowed to claim you’re a Boro fan ever again,”.
Others cited the ‘rules’ of football to Steph with @DMcCARTHYMUFC saying “Steph you can’t have two teams. Unwritten rules of football state this!! #unwrittenlaws”.
And @SmogontheTyne_ told of his plans to complain saying “I’m going to ring Points of View and register my dissatisfaction.”
Others followers were kinder to the former Kader and Macmillan pupil.
@tonyhughes50s said: “Enjoy have fun hope your team win" and @SparksyOnRadio said: “It IS possible to support two teams. I do.”
Steph was quick to reply - saying: “Aww but I love @Boro more. Just doing my family duties!”
The outspoken BBC presenter recently made national headlines when she claimed to have been sent £20 in the post to ‘correct’ her Teesside accent.
