Watch: Whale Hill One Voice choir release first single thanks to generous Yo-Yo funding grant


A youth choir is celebrating its fifth anniversty by launching its first single.


Whale Hill One Voice choir recorded “Come Along with Me” in a professional studio after being given a £1,000 Yo-Yo funding grant from Redcar and Cleveland Council.

The single was released with a launch party for the members who are all aged five to 17.


Redcar and Cleveland Councillor and founder of the choir, Olwyn Peters said: “The children were buzzing, they felt like proper Xfactor stars.


“I must admit, I really enjoyed being in the spotlight too.


“Alison Trelfa, our musical director wrote, mixed and produced the whole song. She’s a very inspirational lady”.

The choir is planning to make a full album later on this year, titled “Gimme 5”, in recognition of its five years together.


“Come Along with Me” is available for £1 from Whale Hill Community Centre, all proceeds will go back into developing the choir.
