Is Manjaros Teesside's top celeb hangout? Take a look at some of the famous faces who've visited

If you fancy eating like a celeb then this revamped Middlesbrough restaurant might just be the ticket.

Manjaros Restaurant and Pizzeria may have had an extension and makeover - but it’s always proven popular with stars visiting the area.

Familiar faces who have eaten here include rappers The Game, Tinie Tempah, Dappy and more recently former world boxing heavyweight David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye.

Earlier this week unlikely YouTube celeb The Wealdstone Raider chowed down on chicken at the Linthorpe Road venue - and recorded a signature ‘want some’ message.

The restaurant has been extended into the neighbouring two storey property and had a ‘holiday villa’ type makeover.

Manager Billy Ali said: “It’s all been totally refurbished and we have gone into the neighbouring property so people can now sit upstairs and downstairs as before there had only been nine tables to the ground floor.”

As well as the refurbishments so far there are also now plans for a balcony, dessert bar, a cosmopolitan coffee area out front and the owners are also looking to open up a branch in Newcastle soon.

Middlesbrough needs somewhere like this,” says Billy. “It’s like something you’d see in Dubai and it has an open villa type feel.

“There are cream walls and an open plan kitchen which means you can watch the guys cooking and hear all of that hustle and bustle in the restaurant itself.”

Billy, a dad-of-three from Acklam, says the celebrity diners are tempted by freshly grilled chicken.

“All the stars who have visited have had grilled chicken and our very own sauce," said the 38-year-old.

“I’ve met all of them and they were all just so friendly.”

US rapper The Game performed at TFM Soundworks in March last year - before heading down Linthorpe Road to Manjaros for his dinner.

The Grammy-nominated rapper took his entourage and the star’s visit was captured by Stockton photographer Terry Blackburn.
