Newly-released figures show that Teesside had two of the cheapest houses sold in England and Wales last year.
The two properties, both in Limetrees Close, Port Clarence, went for £8,500 and £9,000 respectively.
Only a house in Curzon Road, Bradford - which went for £8,000 - could top that.
The priciest house sold over the period was in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London.
It cost just shy of £55m - the price of around 6,465 of the £8,500 Port Clarence homes.
The data is taken from housing transactions registered with the Land Registry between January and December last year.
And it shows that the Limetrees Close was the least expensive street on Teesside in terms of sales over the period, at an average of £16,714.
Hampden Street, in South Bank, saw properties go for an average £20,000.
That average house price data is based on at least three house sales in that street - streets with two or less sales are excluded.
This a straight average, rather than a median.
Going by that formula, the priciest street in the region - at £547,000 - was Black Wood in Wynyard.
The map below shows the top 10 most pricey and lowest priced streets in Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Redcar and Cleveland and Hambledon over the period. The map underneath is the national picture.
