Man charged with attempted murder following attack on 62-year-old in his Linthorpe home


Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a man was seriously assaulted in his Middlesbrough home on Friday night




A man has been charged with attempted murder following an attack on Friday night.


Police were called to Weastell Street, off Linthorpe Road in Linthorpe, at 6.30pm, where they discovered a 62-year-old man had been seriously assaulted at his home.


The victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with head and jaw injuries where he is still receiving treatment.


A 24-year-old local man has been charged with attempted murder and burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.


He has been remanded in custody and is to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday.
