Chennai, Jun 8: The trend of celebrities embracing Islam has continued in Tamil Nadu, with another prominent Tamil actor becoming a Muslim. Actor Jai, who has reportedly been following Islam for few months, was seen praying in a Masjid in the city on Friday.
The development comes after two well-known Tamil celebrities- music director Yuvan Shanker Raja and actress Monkia-publicly announced their change of faith.
It is learnt that after Yuvan admitted to embracing Islam, Jai had started following few of Islamic rituals. He had even kept the fast during Ramadhan last year, and since then, has been visiting the mosques every Friday.
Meanwhile, the actor also hinted about his affinity to Islam in his messenger site, where his status read ‘Alhamdhulillah’, which in turn sparked off the rumours. On Friday Jai was spotted offering prayers inside Anjuman Masjid at T. Nagar, here alongside Yuvan.
It could be recalled here that Oscar winner AR Rahman also had changed his faith and accepted Islam years ago.
