Thieves targeted several vehicles in Middlesbrough

Thieves targeted several vehicles in late-night raids in Middlesbrough - smashing windows and stealing the contents.

The offences took place between midnight and 2am on Sunday in Martonside Way, across the way from James Cook University Hospital and Hutton Road in Longlands.

Thieves struck again on Sunday into Monday on Abingdon Road, Saltswell Road and Lansdowne Road in the town centre area - as well as Merlin Road and Bowfell Road in the Pallister Park area.

It is believed that the thieves may have used a motorbike as their getaway in some of the incidents.

They gained access to the vehicles by smashing the car windows.

Police are now reminding motorists to keep all valuables that are left in vehicles out of sight.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact Acting Detective Sergeant Tom Legg on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
