Residents at Belle Vue Nursing Home hope Wish support with help keep them busy outside

Residents at a Middlesbrough care home are hoping your Wish tokens will help them enjoy the outdoors.

Belle Vue Nursing Home, which is located on Belle Vue Grove, gives its residents, some of who are keen gardeners, the chance to enjoy their outside space.

The care home has entered The Gazette’s Wish campaign in the hope of giving the residents something to look forward to each day.

Last year, the support received by readers allowed the home to buy shrubs, plants and hanging baskets for the garden.

They also bought LED lighting and a barbecue for the residents, who then enjoyed dining outside every Friday.

With regards to this year’s campaign, Diana Archer, of the group said: “We intend to spend this year’s Wish money on a greenhouse for the residents to enjoy home-grown vegetables and fruit all year round.”

Every year, The Gazette’s Wish campaign gives away thousands of pounds to not-for-profit groups and organisations benefiting the Teesside community.

Each registered group will be guaranteed a share of our £40,000 fund.

The more tokens a group collects, the bigger its share of the prize pot.

Although there are no more tokens to collect, there is still time to help by sending your tokens to your chosen group, which must submit them by 5pm on February 27.

To help Belle Vue Nursing Home, send your tokens to: Belle Vue Nursing Home, 26a Belle Vue Grove, Middlesbrough, TS4 2PX.
