Top industry award for Stockton IT firm Onyx


Onyx Group has won a top national industry award.


The Stockton-based IT infrastructure & Support specialists scooped the Mid-Size MSP (Managed Service Provider) of the Year 2014 UK and Ireland category at the recent Kaseya User conference in London.


Kaseya is a leading provider of cloud-based IT management software and designed the awards to recognise enterprise and MSP partners in the UK who have achieved outstanding business results through their innovative use of its technologies.


The Kaseya Automation Platform, underpins Onyx Group’s flagship OneTouch service, which monitors and manages the networks and desktop estates of its extensive managed services customer base.


The Onyx team was commended for achieving outstanding results across a number of areas, including revenue growth, business value generated for end-users and their progressive use of Kaseya solutions throughout 2014.


Neil Stephenson, CEO of Onyx Group, praised the work done by the team and believed they will play a key role in Onyx Group’s future.


He said: “It’s a great honour to win this award and a real testament to the hard work carried out by the team. Our support engineers are renowned for their industry leading skills and expertise and this award is a shining example of that.”


The news just after Onyx Group’s acquisition of Knowledge IT, a £10m move that established the company as one of the UK’s leading providers of IT services. The acquisition has bolstered Onyx Group’s existing infrastructure and will play a key role towards achieving Onyx’s ambitious plans to become a national £100 million revenue IT support and services business in the next five years.


During the last five years, the Group has completed eight acquisitions which have seen its customer base grow to a core of more than 200 clients, which includes some of the UK’s leading brands. It has expanded across the UK and developed new services and products that are tailored specifically to meet the needs of businesses in a number of vertical markets.


Onyx Group has 170 staff and sites throughout the country including; London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Rotherham and Teesside. This includes six data centres and eight workplace recovery facilities.
