Two late goals gave Hartlepool a 2-0 win at Dagenham to complete the double over their League Two rivals.

Luke Williams scored his first goal for the club, the Middlesbrough loanee striking 20 minutes from time, then Andy Monkhouse sealed it with two minutes remaining.

Williams had a slice of luck, for although his volley was well struck it deflected into the net off a defender.

Manager Colin Cooper told the club’s official website: “When you’ve got someone of Luke’s ability you know he will try things and when the ball dropped to him he was always going to hit it – he’s been very good for us and we knew he’d get a goal, it’s been a case of when not if.”
