Wish: Grangetown Netball Club in Wish appeal to improve equipment

Netball fans are hoping for help in boosting their equipment.

Grangetown Netball Club meets three times a week where members train across a host of levels.

Now they have signed up to the Gazette Wish campaign in the hope of raising money to buy new equipment.

Geraldine Williams, from the group, said: “We are a netball club that play at national club level. We represent Middlesbrough all over the country.

“Also we have a thriving junior section that plays competitively and for fun.”

Every year, The Gazette’s Wish campaign gives away thousands of pounds to not-for-profit groups and organisations benefiting the Teesside community.

Each registered group will be guaranteed a share of our £40,000 fund.

The more tokens a group collects, the bigger its share of the prize pot. Tokens are now appearing daily in The Gazette. The last token will appear on Wednesday January 21.

Submissions for tokens will close at 5pm on Monday, February 23.

Grangetown Netball Club, which is based at Grangetown Youth and Community Centre, meets Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, usually from around 6pm till 10pm.

Last year the group raised money through the Wish campaign to buy a scoreboard for their premier league games.

To help them this year send your tokens to: Grangetown YCC, Broadway, Grangetown, Middlesbrough TS6 7HP.
