Teenage boy and girl arrested and bailed after 'shots' are fired in Middlesbrough street

A teenage boy and girl have been bailed after being arrested in connection with an incident in which ‘shots’ were fired in a Middlesbrough street yesterday.


The two 15-year-olds were arrested after armed police were called to Granville Road, central Middlesbrough, following reports of shots being fired from an upstairs window.


Cleveland Police were called at 2.10pm yesterday to reports of air rifle shots being fired.


Armed response units were dispatched and searched a house on Granville Road.


A boy and a girl, both aged 15, were arrested in connection with the incident and have now been bailed pending further inquiries.


The boy had been arrested on suspicion of assault and firearms offences.


The girl was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
