Hemlington car flip crash: Motorist in 'stable' condition in hospital after accident


A man is in a stable condition in hospital after the car he was travelling in flipped.


The 41-year-old was driving along Stainton Way, in Hemlington, when the incident happened at about 6.30am yesterday.


The black Peugeot 206 was the only vehicle involved in the incident.


Other motorists stopped to check on the condition of the driver before police came and closed the road from Hornsea Road to the roundabout with Low Lane.


A spokesman for Cleveland Police said the man sustained head injuries and remained in James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment.


She said his condition is described as “stable”.


The road was closed for several hours so the vehicle could be recovered and the area made safe.


It re-opened at about 10.30am last night.
