What are your school aims and policies?  Our school motto is “hand in hand, fulfilling our potential” we value, seek to understand and identify this potential in everyone. We encourage our wider community to engage in school life. We aim to promote a range of values which include: British democracy, The rule of law, individual liberty and respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs (and no faith).

We also aim to give our children an appreciation of diversity. We promote rights, but try to make children understand that with rights come responsibility. We value our heritage and explore our history, encouraging children to learn from this.

What were you rated in your last Ofsted?  Outstanding

Do you have a school council? If so what are they currently working on?  The school council have been working on ideas to ease congestion in the school corridors when it is home time and a survey to find out which school clubs children would like. Also one of our councillors also said that some of our children would like a school pet, the staff and children will be looking at types of pets, their needs to see whether this would be an option.

What after school clubs do you run?  We run table tennis, homework club, netball, football, girls football, multisport, art, choir, Spanish, squash, Disney sing-along, literacy club and cheerleading. We are also hoping to start a cookery club soon.

Tell us something we didn’t know about your school:  Quotes from some of our year 5/6 children:

Jack Bowes, year 5: “Mrs C Hoffman, our deputy head teacher, pretends her name is ‘Cauliflower Hoffman’ just to make us laugh! (We know it’s Caroline really).”

Kate Stubbs year 6:  “We have an extensive range of lunchtime and afterschool activities which support everyone’s passions and goals.”

Molly Guest, year 6: “At the end of each day, your teacher gives out a ‘Barney’, this is a reward for hard work. When you get three Barneys you get presented with a head teacher’s Barney in assembly. Consequently it makes you want to work hard.”

Eve Hardy, year 5: “On the last school day of the week, which is Friday, we have a certificate assembly which gives awards for people who have made a real effort or who have tried something new.”
