Traffic backs up as A66 roundabout crash delays rush hour commuters


A crash this morning caused delays for rush-hour commuters.


The two-car collision happened on the A66 towards Middlesbrough at the Cargo Fleet Lane roundabout at 7.30am today.


It involved a red Seat Ibiza, driven by a 27-year-old man, and a white Peugeot, driven by a 43-year-old man and had collided with the central reservation.


A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said only minor injuries were believed to have been sustained.


One lane was blocked as a result of the accident and traffic was backed up.


The road was due to have been cleared by 10am.
