Kylie Minogue’s former choreographer has been passing on his extensive knowledge to dance students in Teesside.
Young dancers at Harlequin Stage School, on Preston Farm Industrial Estate, Stockton, were given a dance masterclass by choreographer to the stars, Tim Noble.
Two groups of students aged from five to 18 were taught the industry secrets to music video dance, audition techniques and musical theatre.
Tim’s career has seen the 42-year-old work with superstars such as Madonna, Beyonce, Girls Aloud, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, Cheryl Cole, Tom Jones, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
After training at The Central School of Ballet and the London Studio, Tim successfully went on to star in the original productions of Grease the musical and Starlight Express.
He worked as dance captain and choreographer to Kylie Minogue for her world tours, videos and global album promotions for a two-year period spanning four albums.
He has also been a mentor and choreographer on Pop Idol and X Factor.
Tim, who is now the company director of Purestar Productions, said: “What we’re doing today is about trying to build confidence in the kids by giving them a fun workshop.
“It’s nice to meet new kids and talk to them about their futures and the world that’s out there.
“Not everyone will want to go on to make a career out of it, but for those who do I’m also helping them with the audition and casting techniques that can make them stand out.
“There are four things I want them to take away with them - energy, attack, personality and performance.”
Academy principal Annika Tang said: “Tim has been brilliant, he really gets the performance and confidence out of the kids.
“It’s a really great opportunity for them to have such an experienced person in the industry coming to work with them.
“They know he was Kylie’s dance partner on her world tours - I think they’re in awe of him.”
Dance student Estelle Denison, 16. has been going to Harlequin Stage School since she was just two years old.
The Yarm School sixth former said: “I’ve really enjoyed it.
“I might decide to follow dance as a career after I finish my A-Levels so it was great to get tips and advice for auditions and casting from someone in the business.
“He’s not someone you get to meet everyday.”
