Nosh Healthy Kitchen closes doors - because hungry customers eat entire stock in two days

A healthy Middlesbrough eaterie that welcomed hordes of fans on Sunday has had to close its doors - because hungry customers have eaten their way through all their stock.

Nosh Healthy Kitchen, on Linthorpe Road close to the corner of Southfield Road, teased Teessiders on social media leading up to their grand opening.

Now the eaterie has had to close on Tuesday while their kitchen is re-stocked.

A statement on the company’s Facebook page read: “So after a mad couple of days you guys have completely taken all our food.

“We were overwhelmed by the response and the lovely messages.

“We want to make sure our food is perfect for you and that’s why we think it’s best we close tomorrow to restock and regroup all ready to go.

“So we will be open from 11.30am and 9pm on Wednesday.”

On Friday, the company held a VIP opening night for family and friends where Jason Jahangiry, 25 who runs the business with his chef dad Shari Jahangiry, said: “We wanted to create something different and healthy.

“People are more health conscious now, and want to go somewhere that caters to the type of diet they are following, whether that is slimming or building muscle.

“While it is going to be healthy, fast food, we still want people to identify with it so we are including dishes like the skinny parmo - which is baked, has half fat cheese and reduced fat bechemel sauce - so that people feel comfortable.”

Almost 8,000 people ‘liked’ the eaterie on Facebook ahead of it opening to the public at 11.30am on Sunday.
