Music lovers have plenty to look forward to this weekend.
Stockton’s Sound it Out Records is preparing to celebrate Record Store Day 2015 on Saturday.
Stuart Willoughby, 44. who works in the store said: “Record Store Day is a worldwide celebration of independent record stores and on the day we sell exclusive products from artists ranging from local bands and singers to international stars like Bruce Springsteen and U2.”
Products include more than 500 different items from a wide range products by a range of artists.
LPs, 7” and 10” singles, picture discs, coloured vinyl, cassettes and books are some of them types of merchandise available from artists including Biffy Clyro and David Bowie through to Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and everyone in between.
Stuart said: “You can’t buy these anywhere else apart from indie record shops who are taking part.
“We open at 8am and usually have a queue down the street until about lunchtime.
“We have 25% off second hand stock on the day too and it’s a great opportunity for music lovers to come together and enjoy their shared passion.”
Sound it Out Records - in Yarm Street - is also hosting a gig at the Georgian Theatre, with four bands playing Saturday evening.
Bands include Hyde & Beast (which includes members of The Futureheads and The Golden Virgins) and Interrobang? (featuring Dunstan Bruce, a former member of Chumbawamba), local indie disco band Be Quiet, Shout Loud! and new band Figmennt.
It starts around 7pm and tickets are free from Sound It Out during the day or £2 on the door.
